I AM SOOOOOOOO UNBELIEVABLY PROUD OF ALL OF YOU WHO PERFORMED IN DANCE DAY!!!!!!!! WE WERE AH-MAZING! AND THE CROWD LOVED US!!! SO APPLAUD FOR YOU ALL! 

You should be EXTREMELY happy with our performance no matter what happened! LET'S DO THIS AGAIN NEXT YEAR, BUT EVEN BETTER!!!!!! Some people even told me that we were just as cool as Break dancing club...so yeah :) BE HAPPY AND HONORED!

Ok guys, Dance day is THIS THURSDAY! We are performing 6th period! So make sure you get your excursion card signed for 5th and 6th so you guys can warm up/practice/change clothes before. I need your excursion card ASAP before Thursday, I think the latest is Wednesday, so if you don't get it signed, YOU WILL NOT BE EXCUSED FROM CLASS=TRUANCY=SATURDAY SCHOOL=BAD COLLEGE APP=FAILURE....jk, not that intense, but most of it us true, up to Saturday school. I'm so glad that we made callbacks! BUT you guys must ALL PRACTICE in order for us to be a memorable performance and to POSSIBLY PERFORM MORE THAN ONCE, which will be determined by our second audition. YES! We have progressed, from Thursday's extra rehearsal for international seminar day.

Yes today I saw Lagniappe & if you haven't seen it IT IS ALMOST AS GOOD AS the one two years ago! AND WAYYYYY Better than last year's!!!

today, well let's say was not the most productive day, but people came and we worked out some stuff. Tomorrow we will be practicing with Martial Arts and Dance to work out the whole routine! Hopefully those who are performing can make this practice!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We're working on buying yo-yos with ball bearings before dance day....it's a work in progress.

So yeah we will be at the same place at the same time......with food (Korean onion rings) and soda! Don't just come and eat everything and not practice! Well as you have noticed the blog page colors have changed, it is pink because it's breast cancer awareness month and well, people at club permitted me to.....today we continued choreographing and practicing! we also decided that we're not going to use Canon In D Remix because it would be copying Winston from dance day last year, so George chose another song, which I don't really know what it is...
so yeah, next week please come!! We'll have food and soda again!

We kind of got the basic outline down, now it's for making the beginning definitive that's the problem.....well we've got a good start so I'm not worried! yes, today we had food: CHIPS AND SPONGE CAKE, and the left over Coca Cola....then Japanese club came down with their shaved ice stuff!!! FIRST OFFICIAL MEETING!

Well, today was a success, except that we spent half the time eating (I have to admit I ate a lot too....so don't feel bad) but next time we must PRACTICE!
We are still undecided about music for dance day, but we are sure that we are going to perform!

Next week we hope to see you again!! Please come! and bring your friends......YES BRING THEM! so far we only have Asians, we would love to see some diversity! EVERYONE IS WELCOME!

Yes we did have food, but not many people showed up....mostly because some people went to Japanese Club half the time, but that's ok. What we did today!

Today was very successful! We had many people come, partially because martial arts club met in the scrounge in the beginning of club!! Anyways, if you want to buy a yo-yo George is selling them for $10, which is a good deal.
Yo-yo club is planning to perform at the NT Dance Day, so we're training people to perform new tricks and to familiarize themselves with the yo-yo.

Next week will have food!! SO PLEASE COME!

WE WON AN AWARD!

Well, if you didn't check your e-mail, then you haven't heard yet.......
Last night was the Student Activities Banquet and the Chinese Yo-Yo club won *drum roll*............BEST ROOKIE OF THE YEAR AWARD! : which basically means we won award for being one of the best clubs just started this year.
So I'm planning next week we'll meet and have a party, if I can plan one....but I'm not sure I'll talk to George, Joon, and Simon about it. When I get around to it I'll scan the certificate we got for winning this award.

APPLAUD GEORGE AND JOON FOR A GREAT PERFORMANCE! JOON ONLY DROPPED THE YO-YO ONCE!!!!!!!!! YAY! Congrats to George for mastering the 2 yo-yos on one string.

And to clarify there is NO CLUB tomorrow, but if you want to hang out tomorrow, I'll be outside in the front of the school, so look around!

UPDATES~!!

So, I know I haven't updated in a while, because my computer was being crazy. Well there is a club banquet thing next Monday, and me, George, and Simon are going. The banquet is to see who win club awards, I don't know if we'll win any, but I nominated our club for a few.

Ummm...oh yeah, next week there won't be club because it's Earth Day for Sophmores, PSAE for Juniors, and day off for Seniors, it's a really complicated week. I'm guessing we'll resume club the next week, if not I'll e-mail you guys, even so I will probably e-mail you all.

Locker Party!

Well, here's some good news: our club has a locker so we'll be able to access the yo-yos even when George or anyone for that matter can't make it to club, as long as we have the key. So, if you haven't been coming to yo-yo club because we weren't always sure there were going to be yo-yos YOU CAN and SHOULD COME BACK!!! Please! We're actually kind of desperate for people to come again because today we had a record of 5 people come to club, sad, I know. What happened to around 7 or more people showing up???
Well anyways, today we discussed using our funds to buy food and drinks to motivate you guys to come back to club--hopefully if you are reading this you will show up again!! And for those who aren't reading this, well, let's say they don't check their e-mail or have no dedication for this club at all!!!!!!!!!

So club members.....I was wondering-yes at this hour in the morning 12:45ishAM-what we should do as a club to make people come! because lately, many people haven't been coming and that's NOT good. This club won't survive unless YOU, yes YOU, come to the club and chill with us. At least give me suggestions to make the club better, even though I'm not the club president *cough George cough* should start being more responsible and take action. He probably doesn't even know this site exists, like many of you. So if you are reading this spread the word around.....so I was going to ask Ms. Kessel or George whether we should use our profits from Roots of NT to buy food and stuff...hopefully that will attract more members to come again!!!!!

Well, there was yo-yo club today, but George didn't come, so we didn't have yo-yos. I'm sorry that our club is lacking effort and FUN, so I'll try to think of ways to bring back people to our club.

I really do want Chinese yo-yo club to be successful as a club, but it won't happen if you don't show up. I know some of you have track or sports and that's ok, make sure you come back when sports are over!!!!

Spring Break!

Well, I hope all of you Chinese Yo-yo members enjoy your spring break, I'm pretty sure we'll have club the week we get back. So until then, HAVE FUN ON BREAK!!! and tomorrow's hectic school day...

There is NO MANDATORY club meeting tomorrow...

As the title says, since it's the week before Spring Break, there is no mandatory club meeting tomorrow. I know everyone is cramming before spring break, just like their "insane" teachers. So if you can't come to club tomorrow (actually I'm going to call it a gathering tomorrow rather than a club meeting) it's ok, since we have nothing to prepare for.

So if you want to talk and chat and hang with me and my friends (which is basically everyone I know) then come to the scrounge tomorrow, otherwise, have fun doing whatever else you have to do!!!!!

After the Academics

Hey guys! I decided this will be the description of our club in After the Academics:

Ever wanted to be a skilled master? Well, Chinese Yo-Yo club will help you become one with the Chinese yo-yo. We will teach you everything from the basics to expert level. You will be able to participate in International Day, fundraisers, and other activities with Chinese Culture Club. It is all you could imagine: friends, food, fun, and flair! Do it all by joining Chinese Yo-Yo club, where EVERYONE matters!

I just sent it to Mrs. Parks, so it will be approved--unless she asks for changes. I couldn't think of anything else to say, since we are such a new club, so don't criticize me for vagueness.

Well, today was very low key, so if you didn't come you didn't miss much, except for Joon acting like a fool, it was funny!!!! Yeah, that was about it. Thanks for coming if you came, it awfully sweet of you, even if you came late or whatever. So yeah. Not much for me to say, except that Ms. Kessel didn't come, but we didn't need her there, there wasn't much to do, ONLY ONE YO-YO STRING IS USABLE, so yeah.
